Cultural Baseline Survey of an In-house Consultancy

One of the largest in-house consulting units – corporate executives, young professionals, and former external consultants – has developed into a successful, global strategy and management consultancy for the corporation. The internal consultancy is consistent and seeks advice for itself when it comes to its inner constitution.

The self-defined values and organizational culture are to be evaluated in terms of commitment and relevance:

  • How do we live our own values? How do we see others in this regard?
  • How relevant are the values for our own identity and customer benefit?
  • What are the conducive and hindering aspects with regard to our performance?

Methodically supported, the foreground (spoken and conscious) and the background (unconscious and habituated) are observed, analyzed, and interpreted. To avoid running an isolated cultural program, the trends of internal customers and the strategic orientation of the in-house consulting are constantly aligned.

The consultancy provides the logic, flow, and specific questions. Quantitative data, observations on action areas, and necessary changes are evaluated and reflected back to the organization as a catalyst for change.

A large group event facilitates a broad discussion of the various internal and external perspectives. The dialogue about self-development is revitalized. The in-house consulting takes over, continues the process, and drives change initiatives forward.
